AREAS OF SPECIALTY
Anxiety / Depression
Anxiety and depression can occur as a natural response to a difficult or frustrating situation outside of your control. It can also be influenced by biology. Tallibah helps clients understand these feelings and work towards regaining control of their lives and emotions.
Interpersonal Relationships
Relationships are complicated. Whether it involves a family member, colleague, child, or partner, Tallibah will assist you in navigating your personal story within the framework of life’s essential relationships. She will also equip you with the tools needed to solve problems and foster a more harmonious coexistence.
Caregiver Burnout
Caregiver burnout often arises from the emotional and physical exhaustion resulting from the demands of providing care to others. It frequently occurs when caregivers neglect their own needs while prioritizing those of their loved ones, often resulting in increased stress and decreased well-being. Tallibah aims to empower clients to recognize the signs of burnout and develop strategies to cope effectively.
Afro-Caribbean Culture
Afro-Caribbean family dynamics often emphasize communal values and strong familial ties, which can create both supportive networks and considerable pressure on women to adhere to traditional expectations. These dynamics may lead women to prioritize family needs over their mental health, resulting in feelings of guilt, anxiety, and stress. Tallibah, as an Afro-Caribbean therapist, understands these cultural complexities. She provides culturally aware therapeutic techniques that address the unique challenges faced within these family structures.
